Court interpreters are appointed by competent county or commercial courts. Their job is to translate and interpret, at the request of the court, a legal entity, or an individual, written or oral text from Croatian into a foreign language, from a foreign language into Croatian or from a foreign language into another foreign language for which the court interpreter is legally authorised. The translations issued by court interpreters must be identical in content and meaning to the original documents.
What is the process of getting a certified translation?
The first step of every translation is an enquiry by a client. In order to get a precise quote, the client must attach the document that needs to be translated. After we review the document, our project managers will give you a quote. When you accept the quote, the translation process can begin. The document will be sent to a translator. When the document is translated, it will be forwarded to a proof-reader, who will revise the text, checking for any typing, spelling or grammatical errors, and make any changes necessary so that the text sounds natural in the target language. After a final revision by a second translator, the translation is ready to be picked up by the client.
While putting together a quote, every document or text is examined in detail and if the need arises, is discussed with the client. In this way, we can guarantee that the source text and the translation will be identical in terms of content, style and terminology. If necessary, we also compile a special dictionary with the relevant terminology from the source text.

How long does it take to translate a document?
The time it takes to translate a document depends on the quantity and complexity of the text to be translated by the court interpreter. The standard amount a court interpreter can translate is four custom pages from Croatian to a foreign language in one work day, or six custom pages from a foreign language into Croatian in one work day.
