A certified translation is a translation issued by an authorised court interpreter who affixes their stamp to certify the authenticity of the translation.
A certified translation comprises the translation of an original document and the certification of authenticity (certification of the court interpreter) and affixed seal and signature of the court interpreter. The translation is valid for an unlimited period of time, unless stipulated differently by the law.
All documents issued in a foreign language must be translated into the official language of the applicable county by a court interpreter for a certain foreign language. Only then can they serve as evidence in the legal transactions of a foreign country. Only a certified translation of a certain public or private document has the power of evidence of a public document. A certified translation is required for the realisation of a person’s rights in procedures before any state administrative body, notary publics and courts.
