Translating is a very demanding and complex job – translators should show their proficiency in the applicable language, their knowledge of the culture of a certain linguistic area, as well as general knowledge in various areas and segments. A great deal of effort is invested into each translated custom page. A good translation is much more than replacing the words of the source language with the corresponding words of another language – it is rather a matter of extensive research, the application of knowledge and talent, as well as multiple linguistic revisions.
Translation is normally understood as referring to written translation, a text written in a certain language and translated into a target language. However, there are various specific types of translation:
- Certified translation
- Non-certified translation
- Accompanying interpreter
- Simultaneous interpretation
- Consecutive interpretation
A separate and very important part of the translation process and an indispensable element in any type of original text are copy editing and proof reading.
