Simultaneous interpreting

Are you being faced with language barriers? Are you planning on participating in an international conference and know your language skills aren't up to scratch? Or maybe you're planning an important meeting and want the other attendees to understand every detail of your discussion? Lingua-Soft will help your meeting be a success!

Our simultaneous and consecutive interpreters will accompany you to your international events, symposiums and presentations.

This type of interpreting is ideal for multilingual conferences and requires special equipment (interpreting cabin, headphones and a microphone). The advantage of this type of translation is the fact that it saves time – the translation runs simultaneously with the speaker’s words, so it does not slow down the flow of events.

The basic difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation is that simultaneous interpreters are called in at conferences with a large number of participants. In such situations, interpreters are sat in specially equipped rooms, where they simultaneously listen to the speaker and translate into the target language. Such interpretation requires intense concentration. This is why simultaneous interpreters come in pairs, and they swap every twenty to thirty minutes. The participants at the conference have headsets and listen to the translation in real time. The advantage of this type of translation is the fact that it saves time – the translation runs simultaneously with the speaker’s words, so it does not slow down the flow of events. Simultaneous interpretation requires equipment which can also be provided by LINGUA-SOFT.

Consecutive interpretation is usually the preferred option when there is a small group of people (business meetings, meetings with lawyers or with a notary public etc.). The consecutive interpreter will reproduce the translation into the target language when the speaker is pausing.

How do you arrange oral interpreting?

If you would like to receive a quote for simultaneous interpreting, you need first send an enquiry with the following details so the translator can give you a quote:

  • Time and place of the conference where simultaneous translation is required
  • Source and target languages
  • Number of participants
  • Whether the interpreter needs to arrange translation equipment
  • Duration of the conference

The professionalism and extensive experience of our simultaneous interpreters will contribute to your success at symposiums, international conferences, presentations, fairs, press conferences, seminars,
supervisory board meetings, general meetings of companies etc.
